Strathmartine Stories website has launched! Find out more about the project, view the project documentary and listen to interviews at: www.strathmartinestories.co.uk
The project will empower former residents and staff at Strathmartine Hospital to tell their stories through a range of channels. It aims to influence policymakers, professionals and the wider public to make sure that people are no longer institutionalised because of their disability.
Strathmartine Hospital was an institution created in the nineteenth century for people with a learning disability.
It was originally part of an asylum and orphanage in Baldovan, on the outskirts of Dundee. It was decommissioned in the late 1980s and closed in 2003.
The Strathy is our monthly project newsletter. Find out the story behind the project, the history of Strathmartine and how you can get involved by reading the latest issue.
