supportThera West supports people with a learning disability to live the lives they choose. Thera West is part of the Thera Group of companies and is unique in that the people we support not only have control over the design and delivery of their support, but also have control in how Thera West is directed and managed. Thera West was established in 2006 and currently supports around 25 people with a learning disability across the West of England.

areaWe support people in South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire and are looking to support more people in surrounding counties.

Supporting you

circle of supportMany of the people that Thera West supports have complex needs and require high levels of support. We work with people with a learning disability, their circles of support and other professionals to design a package of support around the person. This may involve helping someone to find housing, a housemate, recruit the right staff and plan support.

independentThera West also support people who just need a bit of help to live independently, this may involve some support around household tasks, budgeting or looking after yourself, getting a job, making friends or having a relationship.

person centredThe people that Thera West supports are at the centre of everything we do. Every person we support has input into designing their own support plan and person-centred plan, if they choose to. Read more about our support.

Developing Thera West

growIt is an exciting time for Thera West. As a small company we want to grow to support more people and are working hard to do this over the next few years.

We are focussing on getting recruitment and learning and development right so that we continue to build a highly skilled team of motivated and committed staff.

involveWe want more people to be involved in the way that Thera West operates and to make decisions. To do this we will be:

  • launching company membership
  • setting up an Employee Consultative Council
  • encouraging people to be involved in various groups and committees across the Thera Group.
