Community Event Volunteer

Community event volunteers attend and support our regular social events for people we support and their families in Glasgow.

Want to make a difference to the lives of disabled people in your community? Help us organise fun and interesting social events? Meet new people? Look no further than our fantastic community events volunteering opportunity!

Our Community Event Volunteers attend and assist our regular social events for people we support and their families across the Central belt of Scotland, including Glasgow, Edinburgh & Lothians, Ayrshire and North Lanarkshire. This is an opportunity for the people we support and their family carers to engage with peers in a relaxing and supportive environment.

Volunteers work as part of an events team to plan, schedule and deliver exciting social events with assistance from the Project Coordinators. Social events may have a theme or activity attached and this gives volunteers and beneficiaries the chance to engage with other people that Equal Futures supports. This opportunity helps to build the confidence and skills of people we support in social situations. Events are scheduled in advance and volunteers can attend a selection of the dates or all of them, depending on how much time they’d like to contribute.

The events are a great opportunity to get to know the Equal Futures community. Some even go on to become Befrienders with us or help to facilitate a Circle of Support for someone who needs it.
