Legacy giving

Making a Will helps you to look after the people you care about. If you don’t make a Will, you cannot be sure that people will get what you want them to have after you have gone. After thinking about your family and friends, you could consider leaving a gift to Thera.

Whether you give money or another gift, your legacy could make a huge difference to the lives of people with a learning disability. Legacy giving helps Thera continue supporting people to live happy, independent lives.

To leave a gift in your Will, you need to include our details:

Charity number: 1090163

Thera Trust,
The West House,
Alpha Court,
Swingbridge Road,
NG31 7XT

Leaving a gift in your will could also possibly reduce the amount of inheritance tax you pay.

Writing your will

Writing a will is the only way to make sure that things will happen in exactly the way you want them to after you’ve gone. If you want to leave money to a person or organisation, it must be written in your will.

If you’re planning to write a will, or to amend your will, we suggest that you seek professional legal advice.

You can leave us a gift in three ways:

  • a fixed sum of money – known as pecuniary;
  • a percentage of your total wealth – known as residuary; or
  • a specific gift, for example a painting or shares.

If you include us in your will you need to state our name: Thera Trust, our address: The West House, Alpha Court, Swingbridge Road, Grantham, NG31 7XT and charity number: 1090163.
