Supporting people with a learning disability

About Thera

Thera support adults with a learning disability in their own homes, in the community and for short breaks.

We provide personalised, flexible support throughout England and Scotland that enables people to live the lives they choose.

Thera believe that people with a learning disability should have control over how their support is directed and managed.

People’s stories

I have been in the Scout movement since I joined the Beavers at 7 years old. I am now an assistant leader with my local Scout group and I help them out on a Tuesday night.

Since living independently, Derek has become a popular member of the local community and loves to do voluntary work. He raised £245 for The Poppy Appeal last year.

Donna was recently supported to plan and take a trip of a lifetime - to Disneyland Paris! Donna spent 5 days in the sunshine with her two friends, enjoying the attractions at the park.

I am doing so well in being independent in my life that I don’t need staff with me as much. I am pleased that I am independent as this is what I have been trying to achieve for many years.
