Supporting people with a learning disability

About Thera

Thera support adults with a learning disability in their own homes, in the community and for short breaks.

We provide personalised, flexible support throughout England and Scotland that enables people to live the lives they choose.

Thera believe that people with a learning disability should have control over how their support is directed and managed.

People’s stories

Thera (Scotland)'s 'perfect day' workshop helps people to explore what it would be like to plan their own support. Martin had an excellent plan to spend a day working on a chicken farm.

"About 8 months ago I decided that I wanted to have some pet chickens in my garden. I love everything to do with animals and I volunteer as a dog walker once a fortnight."

"I have been in the Scout movement since I joined the Beavers at 7 years old. I am now an assistant leader with my local Scout group and I help them out on a Tuesday night."

"After living with two other ladies for several years I decided that I really wanted to live on my own. I asked Dosh to help me sort out my rent and bills. They were really helpful."
