Supporting people with a learning disability

About Thera

Thera support adults with a learning disability in their own homes, in the community and for short breaks.

We provide personalised, flexible support throughout England and Scotland that enables people to live the lives they choose.

Thera believe that people with a learning disability should have control over how their support is directed and managed.

People’s stories

I love acting and drama. I go to a drama group which I love. My drama teacher asked if I would like to audition for Eastenders. I said yes straight away!

I have lived in my own home since November 2000, having previously lived in a house I shared with other people. My support workers have helped me to achieve my dream of living in my own home.

Thera supported me to move out of a house I didn't like living in. I now live independently in my own home. I am supported to do the things that I want to do.

When I was on holiday in Teignmouth, my support worker Michael and I went to Torquay for the day. Whilst we were in Torquay, I went on a hot air balloon which is something I've always wanted to do.
