Coronavirus rules over Christmas

Posted 09/12/2020

There will be different coronavirus rules between 23 - 27 December for Christmas.

With coronavirus (COVID-19) still making people ill, Christmas will be different for everyone this year.

The Government has announced people will be able to create ‘Christmas bubbles’ from Wednesday 23 December to Sunday 27 December to celebrate Christmas.

We have created some Easy Read guides for England and Scotland to explain what Christmas bubbles are and what you can and cannot do over Christmas.

England: Christmas bubbles (Easy Read) (626kB)

Scotland: Christmas bubbles (Easy Read) (626kB)

You do not need to form a Christmas bubble and should not feel pressured into doing so. The Scottish Government is advising that the safest way to spend Christmas is in your own household, in your own home, in your local area.

You can find out more information on coronavirus and rules in your local area on our Guidance in England and Guidance in Scotland pages.

Whatever you choose to do, we hope you have a happy and safe Christmas.
