The Camden Society (London), part of the charitable Thera Group, helps to enable people with a learning disability to gain skills and independence, and lead fulfilling lives. We build on 20 years of experience, helping hundreds of people with a learning disability to be part of the community, secure jobs and seize opportunities.
We have successfully established registered support across North and East London with supported living, community support and short breaks respite. The Camden Society (London) aims to empower more people across a wider geography to; enable more communities to benefit from social innovation; share best practice; increase awareness and contribute to more inclusive neighbourhoods.
What are we looking for?
Given our ambitious goals and aspirations to create a greater impact, we have an exciting opportunity for Non-Executive Directors. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference, can bring a track record of strategic oversight, constructive challenge, and sound judgement, to help us shape the future of social care.
We are especially keen to hear from those who can bring representation, different perspectives as we are keen for the Board and our work to be informed by and representative of the diverse communities we serve.
We are looking for Non-Executive Directors with experience in any of the following areas:
- public or not-for-profit sector
- experience in social innovation and expansion
- knowledge, experience and/or understanding of issues affecting people with a learning disability living in the city
- planning, regeneration and support development
Previous Board experience is not essential for the role.
Make a Difference
You will have a comprehensive induction to the role of the director and the way in which The Camden Society (London) and the Thera Group function. You will take part in other board development opportunities and develop and deliver the organisation’s strategic direction and goals.
