Jeremy really enjoyed getting involved in every stage of the process and with encouragement and practical support from staff, he’s been involved in everything from painting the walls and hanging wallpaper to selecting his own decor.
Jeremy chose a dinosaur theme because one of his favourite hobbies is visiting charity shops to find model dinosaurs. He has built an impressive collection of nearly 100 plastic models! His previous bedroom felt quite dark and dated, so when Jeremy expressed an interest in redecorating, staff recognised this as a great opportunity to support him in creating a space that reflects his personality and interests.
Working alongside staff, Jeremy visited a local DIY store where he selected paint and wallpaper that matched his dinosaur passion while keeping the room bright, stylish, and mature. He then visited Dunelm, again with support, to choose new lamps, bedding, and curtains. Staff supported Jeremy with practical tasks, such as putting up the curtains, while Jeremy decided where to display his new accessories and dinosaur models.
The result is a bright, welcoming, and personalised space where Jeremy can relax, listen to music, and enjoy his collection. This project has been a really positive experience for him, providing a room that expresses his individuality and interests. Jeremy is extremely proud of how his bedroom has turned out and enjoys showing it off to visitors.
Since redecorating, Jeremy has shown increased happiness and pride in his home environment. He keeps his bedroom tidy every day and continues to take great care of his new space.
