Thera Companies Celebrate Their Fundraising Activities!

Posted 30/11/2020

Three of Thera's companies are celebrating their fantastic fundraising totals, from the challenges they set themselves this year during COVID-19!

Over the summer months three of Thera’s companies -Thera North, Thera (Scotland) and Thera South West – organised some fantastic fundraising activities to raise money during COVID-19.

We wanted to share their fundraising totals and celebrate the wonderful contribution of our staff and people we support!

Thera North’s 500 – £651.87

Thera North noticed part way through lockdown that the mood among the people they support was low. They were missing out on a lot of their normal activities, so they decided to plan a big celebration for when they were allowed! So, Thera North’s leadership ran and walked a combined 500 miles to raise funds to support those in the Thera North area! This was to support those in need during the COVID-19 crisis, and to fund a celebration when restrictions would allow. Any remaining funds are used to support people with a learning disability in the Thera North area either during, or after, the pandemic. They have raised £651.87 in total – fabulous work team!

Thera (Scotland)’s Move on Challenge – £253.04

Thera (Scotland), inspired by Thera North, chose an incredible target. To walk/run the length of the coast of Scotland! Between all staff and people they support, they aim to walk 7330 miles. These funds will also be used to have a big celebration for their supported people when restrictions allow. Currently they have raised £253.04 – well done everyone!

Thera South West’s Miles to Smiles – £720.57

Thera South West’s staff headed out to run/walk/cycle a combined 2020 miles to raise funds to support those in the Thera South West area. Any remaining funds will be used to support people with a learning disability in the Thera South West area either during, or after, the Covid-19 crisis. Funds will also be put towards a Christmassy ‘pick-me-up’ for those supported who may be financially challenged. Their original target was £500 but they have way exceeded that! Each member of the team has also received a certificate of achievement.
