Positive Behaviour Support Training Launched at Thera

Posted 26/02/2021

Service Quality Directors from around the Thera Group, have completed this important training module.

Service Quality Directors across the Thera Group have completed their Positive Behaviour Support Training. Lead by Matt Bindon, this training looks at why people may behave in ways that are deemed as challenging.  However, the training reasserts that people with a learning disability are at the centre of their own support.

In what has been an unusual year, PBS is an incredibly useful tool. It aids the understanding of how ourselves and the people we support react to different circumstances. Subsequently we can then learn how to improve the quality of our lives and the people around us.

This support has a person-centred approach and follows Thera’s vision and values. Having our Service Quality Director’s complete this training, allows us to embed the Matt’s teachings throughout the organisation and local companies.

Matt is currently working with the Learning and Development Team on some modules for the rest of the Thera Trust. Alongside Jordan Allan, Service Quality Director for Thera (Scotland), Matt is also working on a Positive Behaviour Support podcast! This will be helpful for people to access as an innovative and practical resource.

We can’t wait to listen to the podcast!
