Craig Sutherland

Managing Director

Craig is passionate about empowering people to have an ordinary life and for them to be in control of how and where they live and the support that they receive. Craig started his career as a support worker in 2002, working his way up to Director of Development after roles in operations and person centred planning. In 2015 he moved to a major health and welfare charity as Head of Operations and was responsible for a range of services across the Northwest and Midlands. Craig joined Thera North in 2017 and works with the local teams to continue providing excellent support.

Catherine Carter

Service Quality Director

Catherine has a learning disability/autism and she has worked in self-advocacy for thirteen years. Catherine has worked and creating training in following subjects, employment, self-advocacy, social and the medical model of disability, parenting, The Equality Act 2010, easy read. As part of previous work, Catherine has worked for an equal rights charity organisation promoting and listening to the voices of people with learning disabilities or autism. She has travelled the world giving presentations or training and worked on many projects about the same subject. Her biggest achievement to date was winning the Mencap Activist of the year award in 2018 where she did a speech in the Houses of Parliament around health for people with learning disabilities in front of the health minister Caroline Dinenage MP.

Karen Harris

Executive Assistant

Karen is Executive Assistant to the Service Quality Director. Karen is a fantastic enabler and a skilled graphic facilitator with years of experience working together with people with a learning disability. Karen supports the Service Quality Director to do a great job as well as contributing her own ideas to our work.

Laura Booton

Personal Assistant

Laura is the PA to Thera North. Her work consists of a wide range of administrative and coordination duties. She helps organise, prepare and report on internal and external meetings that are important to Thera North. She also helps plan, manage and implement events for staff and people we support such as the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and other projects.

Sam Hardman

Operational Manager

Sam Hardman is Thera North's Operational Manager. She ensures that Thera North's vision, values and policies are embedded in each person's support plan. She makes sure that Thera North delivers quality support and that we follow all the things that are required of us from Care Quality Commission, local authorities and contracts.

Bronwyn Burgess

Operational Manager

Bronwyn is the Operational Manager for the North East and is responsible for ensuring Thera North delivers great outcomes for people.

Bronwyn was born and bred in South Africa and came to the UK in 2004, where she started her career in health and social care – and has never looked back! Bronwyn has progressed over the years, including being a non-driving support worker, a Trustee Director and a Regional Quality and Compliance Manager. She has a vast amount of knowledge and experience and is passionate about working with people. She is eager to work directly with people and support them to be the best they can be.
