Gig Buddies with Thera Trust supports adults with a learning disability to live an active social life. We work closely with Scottish gig promotors DF Concerts to enable our members to access some of the biggest shows in the country. Colin recently got 2 tickets to see his favourite band, James, and The Royal Highland Centre.

On Saturday 11th June I went with Michael, a Gig Buddies volunteer, to see James live in concert. I’ve been a James fan for years after first getting into them when I was at school. I remember hearing Sit Down at the school disco.

The atmosphere was amazing, the crowd was buzzing with excitement. I was too, all day before the show!

We got access to the accessible platform to give us a better view of the show, and to give us our own space. Tim Booth, the lead singer of James, came up to the accessible area during the concert and sung with us all! I got to see him up close and personal, it bought I tear to my eye, a memory for years to come.

It lived up to my expectations and I’m so glad I got to see them! I would go back to see James in a heartbeat. Maybe next time I could take my wife with me!

We’d like to thank DF Concerts for supporting Gig Buddies and providing tickets to this show.
