Thera East Anglia have launched a recruitment campaign in Norfolk to challenge the stigmas associated with social care.

Did you know, in a survey of over 150,000 people with a learning disability and autistic people, only 23% are supported in their own home?

At Thera, our passion is providing the very best support to people with a learning disability in their own homes, close to their family and friends. Everyday, we are challenging the stigmas associated with social care and learning disabilities with our person-centred approach that promotes freedom and independence.

Thera East Anglia work across Norfolk, Peterborough and Cambridgeshire and are currently recruiting Support Workers to join their teams and support people in all aspects of their lives!

At Thera, we provide comprehensive on the job training and support, so, no previous experience in social care is required. All we are looking for are people who will embrace our vision and are passionate about making a difference to the lives of people with a learning disability.

Working for Thera East Anglia also has the opportunity to change your own life as well as someone else’s! Graham, Operational Manager, started as a Support Worker 15 years ago after working in a range of different jobs outside of the care sector. Like many others, he had a view of support work that didn’t match the reality but decided to change his career after a suggestion from a family member.

Graham told us the many different ways social care has enriched his life and changed his perspective.

It’s made me look at life differently. It’s 15 years ago that I started with Thera, and in that time, I think my own values, attitudes, and beliefs have all changed in the way that I look at things. I think I’m a calmer person, I think I’m a more thoughtful person…it has brought out the best in me.

Working for Thera East Anglia also provides you with many development and career progression opportunities. This can range from progressing into management positions to developing specialisms such as Positive Behaviour Support.

So, are you ready to start making a difference?
