Service Quality Director Jordan Allan was invited to speak at the National Involvement Network meeting.

Thera (Scotland)’s Service Quality Director, Jordan, was recently invited to speak at the National Involvement Network meeting, hosted by ARC Scotland, at The Bridge, Dumfries held on Tuesday 1 July 2025. The National Involvement Network (NIN) is a network of people with additional support needs. They have been meeting for 18 years and come together to promote involvement and share ideas about the things that affect people with additional support needs.

This event focused on finding employment as someone with lived experience of a learning disability and/or autism. Jordan was asked to give a short presentation about his own experiences in this area and his professional and personal journey to becoming Service Quality Director and taking a leadership role within a support organisation.

Jordan’s presentation included an introduction as to who he was. He then spoke a lot about his background and the challenges that he experienced in finding employment. There was a short question and answer session where he went into more detail about his role and the impact it has within both the organisation and the wider social care space. He spoke in front of 80 guests at the event.

This is not Jordan’s first time speaking publicly about his experiences in fnding employment. He was a guest speaker at Equal Futures leadership cafe in 2023 where he spoke about the independence granted to him by having paid employment.

It is clear the value Jordan’s story and experience have and why people would want to hear from him. As well as his professional success, Jordan has appeared on the Power100 list in 2021, which recognises the 100 most influential people with a disability. Jordan is a tremendous example of what people with lived experience can achieve and the value they can offer to society. All of us at Thera (Scotland), are thrilled to work alongside him as he leads us forward into the future.
