Katherine Groves, Quality Assessor for The Quality Company, tells us all about her return to work after being on furlough.

We spoke with Katherine Groves, Quality Assessor for The Quality Company, about her return to work and her experiences of furlough!

What is your role?

I am Quality Assessor for The Quality Company.

How long have you worked for The Quality Company?

I have worked for The Quality Company for 5 years now. 5 years ago I had support from Thera West (now Aspire) to apply for this position. I had an interview and have been with them ever since.

When did you first get furloughed?

I got furloughed in June 2020 when the first national lockdown happened.

What were your experiences of furlough?

It was quite a long time to have off work. I missed meeting my friends who I work with and whose support I Quality Check.

How was your return to work?

I returned to work on 14th January 2021. It was quite strange coming back to work at first! Especially working on screen. I work with The Quality Company every Tuesday and Wednesday, but I also work in a charity shop, Blue Cross, part time.

Did The Quality Company implement any new training to help you work remotely?

I got sent a tablet and a new phone so I could work virtually as we are conducting all assessments via Zoom at the moment. From January to now we’ve been having online training and we’ll be starting back the first week of April.

Every week we also catch up and make sure everyone is getting on alright.

Do you have any hopes for 2021?

No more lockdowns!! If it’s possible.

I am also looking forward to checking in with all the people whose support I Quality Check.

It was great to chat with you Katherine!
