We’ve held a birthday party with a difference to celebrate our 20th year.
To mark the anniversary this summer, we organised an event called #TheRamble which saw seven sponsored walks take place across the country.
In Boston, Thera East Midlands (TEM) held a sponsored walk at the Princess Royal Sports Arena. The event, hosted by Boston Rugby Club, was launched by the Mayor of Boston Councillor Judith Skinner, who attended alongside her husband Paul.
The event began with a warm up session, led by TEM Support Worker Keith Sharples, followed by a walk around the 400 metre running track. Medals were awarded to those who completed the challenge and there was also a celebratory picnic held.
In Ely, Thera East Anglia held a sponsored walk at Ely Tigers Rugby Club at the Outdoor Sports Association. About 80 people attended, many of whom are supported by the organisation. Everyone who finished the one mile walk, received a medal. The event ended with a barbecue, hosted by the Ely Outdoor Sports Association.
Events were also held across the country by Thera North, Thera East, Thera South West, Thera South Midlands and Thera Scotland.
