Unity Works are looking for enthusiastic, flexible and supportive Freelance Hospitality and Catering Assessors to deliver NVQ level 1 and 2 in Hospitality and Food Preparation qualifications (City and Guilds accredited) at our social enterprise cafes across London.

We are seeking enthusiastic, flexible and supportive freelance Hospitality and Catering Assessors to deliver NVQ level 1 and 2 in Hospitality and Food Preparation qualifications (City and Guilds accredited) across our social enterprise cafes.

All learners registered on qualifications with Unity Works have a learning disability and/or are autistic and the aim of our programmes is to support people to gain skills, jobs and qualifications. Our team will support you to understand and identify the best ways to assess our learners. You can find out more about our training opportunities for people with a learning disability here.

The qualification is assessed within our catering social enterprises across London.

Responsibilities: Freelance Hospitality and Catering Assessors will carry out practical assessments with our learners, setting tasks to fulfil the unit criteria and making adaptations to ensure that assessments are accessible.

You will liaise with the Centre Contact and the Internal Quality Assurer to make sure that all learners are working towards targets and you are meeting the centre standards.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

Essential:

  • The assessor must have at least two years’ worth of experience within the field and continuously be expanding their professional development.
  • The assessor must hold an A1/TAQA Qualification.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with people with a learning disability or other vulnerable adult groups.

Salary: £19.33 /hour (we currently only pay for hours delivered with the learner – happy to explain this with you further if you need).
