Meet the board

The board, along with the Managing Director and Service Quality Director, prepare Thera (Scotland) for the future whilst ensuring the quality of what we do.

Simon Conway

Non-Executive Director

Simon Conway studied classical archaeology at university before starting his career with the National Audit Office. He has worked in local government and in the NHS, where he has worked in both acute and community health trusts, latterly as Finance Director. Simon has also been a voluntary director for a number of housing organisations before working for Thera Trust.

Suzanne Langford-Commins

Managing Director

Suzanne joined Thera in September 2019. She has worked in social care for over 20 years and has experience which includes change management, project development, campaigns and much more. She is also a trustee of a small Learning Disability charity in her spare time. Suzanne has four children and four dogs. Her passions include equal citizenship and ensuring people can live their very best lives.

Jordan Allan

Service Quality Director

Jordan joined Thera (Scotland) in May 2020. He has worked in the charity sector over the past 7 years and has experience evaluating the support people with a learning disability receive at home and in work. Jordan is passionate about everyone having the same opportunities in life and is looking forward to helping people supported by Thera (Scotland) to lead meaningful lives.

John Feehan

Non-Executive Director

John first heard about Thera (Scotland) through his job with Enable Scotland, when someone told him about an opportunity for him to become a Non-Executive Director. John shares the same values as Thera and enjoys working for Thera (Scotland). The work that Thera and Enable Scotland do makes a big difference in the lives of people with a learning disability.

Morag Armstrong

Non-Executive Director

Morag was a member of the Children’s Panel until her recent appointment to the Safeguarder’s Panel. She has been the Welfare Guardian of her brother for over 10 years and has a particular insight into the challenges faced by people with a learning disability. Morag has practised law for over 25 years, as a Solicitor, an Advocate at the Scottish Bar and a Legal Consultant, with clients in the private, public and charitable sectors.

Sarah Morris

Non-Executive Director

Sarah is a qualified management accountant and has undertaken various financial roles (mostly business partnering) over the last 20 years. She has worked in companies across sectors such as retail, FMCG and more latterly financial services. Sarah has worked on large acquisition and change projects and is has a keen interest in providing financial insight to operational challenges. She has two busy children who take up most of her time outside work.

Denis Rowley

Non-Executive Director

Ian Richards

Non-Executive Director

Ian comes from a business background in the food manufacturing, hospitality and leisure sectors. Over the last 25 years he has served on the Boards of private sector companies, public sector organisations and charities. Ian firmly believes we all have the right to be the best that we can be and to pursue our dreams. In joining the Board his ambition is to work with the Thera team to help the organisation and its members develop, improve and fulfil their potential.
