About us
Thera is a charitable group that works across large parts of England and Scotland. We support people with a learning disability, who have many ambitions and a range of complex support needs, to live the life they choose. Thera has developed from a single company in 1998 to the group of companies it is today. Thera Group is led by Thera Trust the charity. Thera Trust sets the Vision and charitable purpose, and acts as the parent company in setting the overall strategic direction for the group. We support around 3,000 people and have an annual turnover of over £80m.
The group provides support, and a range of specialist services through 15 subsidiary companies, each with its own board of directors and management team. Our structures enable local focus, control, accountability and leadership by people with lived experience of a learning disability. Through our companies, Thera supports people at home, in the local community and for short breaks. We also offer specialist services in financial advocacy, housing, circles of support, employment, and training.
