Youth Employment Programmes

We empower young people with learning disabilities to discover their strengths, build confidence and independence, and take positive steps towards the world of work.

Our youth employment programmes bring together wellbeing, personal development and employment support, helping young people with learning disabilities build confidence, develop new skills and take positive steps towards adulthood and the world of work.

Across the UK, too many young people are struggling to make the transition from education into employment. For young people with learning disabilities, the barriers can be even greater, and people with severe or specific learning difficulties remain among those least likely to be in employment. We take a wellbeing-first approach, starting with where young people are now, what matters to you and what you want for your future. You’ll have space to explore your strengths, interests and goals at a pace that works for you.

As your confidence grows, you’ll develop practical skills, independence and connections in the local community. When you’re ready, we’ll explore opportunities including volunteering, work experience, placements, and paid employment.

Our programmes range from supported internships to support within further education colleges as well as more traditional supported employment programmes.

Our employment advisors will guide, connect and champion you, linking you with the people, services and opportunities around you. With you at the centre, we’ll help build the confidence, connections and independence to take your next steps and thrive beyond the programme.
