Thera (Scotland) supports people with a learning disability across Scotland, including Edinburgh, Midlothian, West Lothian, Falkirk, North Lanarkshire and Highland.

Thera (Scotland) believes that people with a learning disability should have control of their own support and be able to live their lives as they choose.
Our Service Quality Director, Jordan Allan, makes sure that we deliver support which matches our vision. He also makes sure that people we support can have a say in how Thera (Scotland) is led and managed. To celebrate Jordan’s five year anniversary, we are celebrating his five biggest achievements during his time at Thera. They are:
Jordan has met or visited around 90% of people we support in Thera (Scotland).
Jordan has met or visited 90% of the people we support in Thera (Scotland) and one of the ways he stays in touch with people is through our Being Heard Events, which provide valuable feedback.
Being Heard is Thera’s way of empowering and supporting people to say how they feel. Being Heard makes sure the people we support understand that they have the right to be listened to and have an opportunity to speak to their Service Quality Director, such as Jordan.

In 2021 Jordan was listed on the Shaw Trust Disability Power 100.
In 2021, Jordan was listed on The Shaw Trust Disability Power 100. The Shaw Trust Disability Power 100 is the UK’s leading recognition awards for disabled leaders, trailblazers and change makers.
A platform for change, the list showcases the UK’s most influential disabled individuals and organisations. It celebrates ambition, achievement and impact. For the finalists recognised in the Disability Power 100, this is an award that says you’re a leader in your field, recognised by your peers and a catalyst for positive impact.
I feel really honoured to be on the Power 100 list and to have been nominated by my colleagues. It was a huge privilege for me and is one of my proudest achievements in my life.
Jordan became a Super Trainer for STOMP and Restore2 Mini, and delivers the training to staff at Thera.
Jordan received a full day of face-to-face training and now is a Super Trainer, and can deliver training on RESTORE2 Mini and STOMP.
With Jordan having a lived experience of a learning disability, this means he can use his own lived experience to advocate for people and to challenge the use of psychotropic medication.
It was great to be part of such an important piece of work, it was great to be able to co-deliver this in Thera and be part of this work.
Making a positive impact at board level as a Director with a learning disability.
Jordan continues to make a positive impact at Board level as a Director with a learning disability, and is now mentoring a Non-Executive Director with a learning disability too.
Growing as a leader and building confidence.
Jordan continues to display leadership skills, building confidence and has done more independent travelling across the UK.`
We congratulate Jordan on reaching five years as Service Quality Director!
