Meaningful projects funded by Trusts and Foundations include:
Gig Buddies
Gig Buddies with Thera Trust enables adults with a learning disability and autistic adults to live an active social life. Acting as a form of crisis prevention, Gig Buddies with Thera Trust encourages community access and helps people build vital support networks whilst developing their own confidence.
A friend is more laid back than a support worker, and that felt better knowing that they were there because they wanted to be, not because they were paid to be there.
Equal Futures
Equal Futures with Thera Trust supports the creation of lasting relationships for people with a learning disability and autism and their families. Their circles of support model encourages community access and helps families to plan for their loved ones future.

Unity Works
Unity Works Social Enterprises offers supported employment opportunities to people with learning disabilities. They run social enterprises including two cafes, a mail out organisation, and a garden centre where people gain valuable experience. They then offer employment support to help people find and sustain long term employment.
When I first started, I wasn’t too sure about the job as I didn’t know what to do. This has helped me push out of my comfort zone. Once I started, I soon realised it was great.
I had been over thinking too much, but once I got the job I was relieved, excited, and nervous. I was so very pleased with myself though.
The team have given me so much confidence and encouraged me that I can do it. They even supported me whenever I made a mistake.
