Cameron has been working for the Scottish Commission for people with a learning disability since 2014 and is currently a development worker. Cameron supports the SCLD team to deliver events, conferences, workshops, and engagement activities, as well as leading on key development programs, such as employment, SCLD’s Expert Group, Emerging leaders and Global leadership Exchange (GLE).
Cameron is a champion for people with learning disabilities, supporting them in any way he can, such as helping them get into employment and their own homes and making sure they get the right support.
Outside of work, Cameron is the Human Rights Advisor at the YOUNGO Human Rights working group and is part of the Global Coordination Team at YOUNGO (a United Nations climate Change Contingency). Cameron is also a youth worker as he is part of the Scout Section Team within Clyde Scouts.
Cameron wanted to join the board of Thera (Scotland) as he supports what the organisations does and wants to make this as best as it can be. Cameron also has a family member who has Angelman Syndrome so a personal reason why cameron wanted to be part of Thera (Scotland) board.
