After leaving school in 1995, Lorna went to college to complete an GNVQ in Health and Social Care to follow an ambition to work in the industry.

After graduating, Lorna moved from working weekends as a care assistant to being full time, progressing to Lead Carer, then Customer Service Manager. She obtained a Diploma in Welfare Studies and City and Guilds Advanced Management for Care. The next step in Lorna’s career was working as a Deputy Manager for a care home for a national organisation before being promoted twice, firstly to Registered Home Manager in 2001, and Operations Manager in 2004.

In 2014, Lorna joined Thera East Anglia as Managing Director, moving on to Group Lead Director – Operational Support in 2022.

In her new role as Group Executive Director – Operations, Quality and Practice, Lorna believes in empowering and investing in people to be highly skilled, competent and happy in the work they do. By creating and maintaining the right culture we can achieve our Vision, be accountable to the people we support with a learning disability who will naturally be put first in all we do.
