Lorna began her career in social care in 1995 before progressing from weekend care assistant to full-time roles in frontline support and management.
Lorna joined the Thera Group as Managing Director (Thera East Anglia) in 2014 and became Group Lead Director – Operational Support in 2022. In 2025, she was appointed interim Group Executive Lead Director, providing clear leadership and coordination during a period of transformation. Following a selection process, Lorna was appointed Thera’s permanent Chief Executive from 1 August 2026.
As Chief Executive, Lorna leads Thera’s strategy and overall performance, strengthening oversight and turning organisational priorities into action. She works collaboratively with the Group Executive Team and Thera’s wider leadership community to ensure high-quality support, organisational improvement and long-term sustainability, while ensuring the voices of people supported and colleagues shape decisions.
Lorna is committed to Thera’s distinctive approach to inclusive leadership, in which people with lived experience of learning disability hold meaningful leadership roles. She believes that investing in people, creating the right culture and enabling others to succeed are essential to achieving lasting positive impact.
