After leaving school in 1995, Lorna went to college to complete an GNVQ in Health and Social Care to follow an ambition to work in the industry.

After graduating, Lorna moved from working weekends as a care assistant to being full time, progressing to Lead Carer, then Customer Service Manager. She obtained a Diploma in Welfare Studies and City and Guilds Advanced Management for Care. The next step in Lorna’s career was working as a Deputy Manager for a care home for a national organisation before being promoted twice, firstly to Registered Home Manager in 2001, and Operations Manager in 2004.

In 2014, Lorna joined Thera East Anglia as Managing Director, moving on to Group Lead Director – Operational Support in 2022.

In her role as Group Executive Lead Director, Lorna coordinates Thera’s Strategic Direction and continuous improvement plan to achieve our vision. Lorna believes in empowering and investing in people to be highly skilled, competent and happy in the work they do. By creating and maintaining the right culture we can achieve our Vision, and be accountable to people with learning disabilities who will naturally be put first in all we do.
